To restore dignity, hope, and quality of life for orphaned children and abandoned seniors in underserved communities worldwide through compassionate humanitarian support.
BRIGHT HEARTS GLOBAL is a nonprofit organization that provides humanitarian aid and support to children and seniors living in orphanages, care homes, and similar residential facilities in underserved communities worldwide, including but not limited to providing food, clothing, healthcare support, essential resources and programs designed to improve their quality of life, dignity, and overall well-being.

Our Leadership




Abdul Chohan
Abdul Chohan serves as Chairman of the Board of Directors of Bright Hearts Global. He is Vice President of Operations at Arete Biosciences, where he leads contract manufacturing and operational strategy for biotechnology and medical device companies. Abdul brings more than 30 years of leadership experience in operations, engineering, and supply chain across organizations including Danaher, Roche, and Werfen, where he has built and scaled manufacturing operations, launched numerous new products, and led cross-functional global teams.
In addition to his corporate leadership experience, Abdul has a strong commitment to mentorship and community service. He serves as a Board Advisor to Automation Nth, previously served as Vice-Chair on the Board of the San Diego Youth Symphony, and has been a longtime mentor and advisor to startups through CONNECT San Diego. He brings this combination of executive leadership, governance experience, and commitment to service to his role as Chairman of Giving Without Borders, helping guide the organization as it works to improve the lives of vulnerable children and seniors in underserved communities around the world.
Abdul holds an MBA from the State University of New York at Buffalo and a Bachelors in Chemical Engineering from the University of Rochester. He completed the COO Program at MIT and is a certified Lean Six Sigma Black Belt.
Maya Gowri
Maya Gowri is the founder of Bright Hearts Global and serves as President and a member of the Board of Directors. She brings more than 25 years of leadership experience across the in vitro diagnostics, biotechnology, and life sciences industries, with a career spanning operations, research and development, business development, sales, and marketing. Most recently, Maya served as Senior Vice President, Head of Operations at Accelerate Diagnostics.
Throughout her career, Maya has built and led organizations, developed high-performing teams, and driven transformational initiatives focused on operational excellence and sustainable improvement. She brings this same leadership experience and commitment to Giving Without Borders, with a passion for improving the lives of vulnerable children and seniors in underserved communities around the world.
Maya earned her Ph.D. from the University of Kentucky and holds an MBA from the University of California, Irvine. She is also a certified Six Sigma Black Belt through Arizona State University and a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt through the University of California, San Diego.


Senthil Vel
Senthil Vel is the co-founder of Bright Hearts Global and serves as Secretary and a member of the Board of Directors.
